tough love

Hurtful dark food
Faith tear protect black
Audrey heart love

Food can be like anything that anyone need emotionally or physically. I would say the first sentence means the sad things we encounter in life. And that even we cry it we had faith it will protect us from the negative blackness in our mind or feeling. And if your not defeated you will be able to use your heart and love your woman. In this poem, audrey could mean the English princess aethelthryth, called Princess Audrey. A widow whose husband died and will not marry another even when her Dad orders her to do so. Which fits in with the faith and hurtful things mentioned in the poem.

  1. the 'faith tear protect black' reminds me of some mourning rituals in different countries - in which people tear their mourning garments to show their loss to the public as an act of faith. This kind of relates to Audrey as a dead icon?
